The short version: This app collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no servers. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no third party of any kind. Everything the app does happens on your own device.

No data is transmitted, ever

Siddur Derech Simchah does not request Android’s INTERNET permission. The operating system therefore prevents the app from opening a network connection at all. This is not only a policy commitment — it is enforced by Android itself, and you can verify it in the permission list on the Play Store listing.

There is no server behind this app. No information about you or your use of the app is collected, stored remotely, shared, sold, or used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

Location

With your permission, the app reads your device’s location. It is used only, and entirely on your device, to calculate:

Prayer times (zmanim) for your position;
Shabbat candle-lighting time;
The compass direction toward Jerusalem;
Whether Israel or diaspora calendar rules apply.

Your location is never transmitted, because the app has no means of transmitting anything. Your most recent coordinates are saved locally so the app still works if you later decline the permission or have no signal.

Granting location is optional. If you decline, the app continues to work and you can type your coordinates and time zone in manually under Settings.

Information stored on your device

The app saves your preferences in its own local storage so they persist between sessions. This includes your location and time zone, display choices such as typeface, text size, theme and vowel points, and any names you choose to enter for inclusion in prayers. All of it stays on your device.

This data is removed when you uninstall the app, or when you clear the app’s storage in Android Settings.

Permissions the app requests

Approximate and precise location — for the purposes described above. Optional.

The app requests no other permissions. It does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, files, calendar, or any other information on your device.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. It is suitable for all ages, and nothing about its behaviour changes based on who is using it.

Third parties

None. The app contains no analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or trackers of any kind. No third party receives information from this app, because the app sends information to no one.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Any change that affects how information is handled will be reflected here before it reaches a released version of the app.
